Surprise proposal on a boat? Yup, count me in.
Today is a super exciting post! This summer I was contacted by a Groom-to-Be named Parker who wanted to propose to his girlfriend (now fiance!) on a boat. He wanted me to be there to capture it all.
One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is all of the intimate moments that I am invited into to capture. Proposals are one those moments and I love being able to be there for my couples and surprise the fiance with photos of the whole thing!
I talked with Adrienne and Parker and asked them to tell us all about the surprise proposal
Q: How did you two meet?
We are both in the hotel industry. Parker transferred from New Jersey to New Orleans, where Adrienne worked.
Q: Parker, what made you want to do the proposal on a boat?
Simple… Adrienne loves the beach, water and boats.
Q: What made you want to hire me to photograph the proposal?
I did a lot of research and found the feedback from other clients were nothing but glowing comments. Not to mention you made me feel at ease and were so easy to communicate with.
Q: Thanks Parker! Can you walk me through how the plan went the day of the proposal?
The plan was a bit skewed, no fault of you. You actually arrived early and directed/coordinated with the boat crew to make sure everything was seamless and discreet before we arrived! Also, you told Adrienne she was with a marketing company to do some advertisement. You did a great job playing the part.
Q: Ok Adrienne, did you have any idea Parker was about to propose?
No! I did not have a clue. When people ask this question, I always say that if I knew, I wouldn’t have done an accent nail with palm leaves on my ring finger. When I realized what was happening, I was in shock!!!
Q: I love that it was a total surprise! Would you suggest for other couples to hire a photographer to capture the proposal?
Absolutely. I wanted to make sure that all of our loved ones that weren’t present for the proposal got to see the special moment.
Q: Ok last but not least, what are you most looking forward to with wedding planning?
Picking a destination!
I’m so happy I was able to be there for Parker and Adrienne and capture that timeless moment for them. I truly believe everyone deserves extraordinary photos.
