Planning an Elopement For $2000

Weddings

back

Planning an elopement can be stressful and costly. As you guys may have seen, I have been talking a lot about elopements on the blog lately! Make sure to check out my top 5 reasons to elope right here. Elopements are something that I thoroughly enjoy photographing and I love seeing how each of my couples makes their elopement unique!

I recently wrote a full blog post debunking the top 5 biggest elopement myths (Kinsey Note: Link here once it’s live) and one of the myths was that elopements are cheap. I’m taking the negative out of the word “cheap” and instead talked about making your elopement affordable. I decided to take it a step further and create a full blog post on how you can have an elopement for $2,000!

Did you guys know that the average wedding in Florida costs over $30,000? Yep, that many zeros. So planning an elopement for $2,000 is literally saving you 93% of the average wedding cost in Florida, without sacrificing the important things. I’d say that’s a win-win! Let’s dive into this cost breakdown.

Elopement Photography: $850

You should 100% have a photographer for your elopement! This is your wedding day and the day you officially start your happily ever after. Obviously, that deserves to be photographed! I offer a 2-hour elopement package for $850 which I think is the perfect amount of time for an elopement. That covers your ceremony, some detail shots, and of course the bridal portraits! This is a cost I truly do not think anyone should ever look over. Importantly, you will not regret having your photos captured forever.

Wedding Officiant: $200

You have to have someone to marry you! It does cost to have an officiant but of course this is a necessity for any wedding. Here are some different officiant options in Destin, FL. (Kinsey Note: You can link a preferred officiant if you have one!)

Marriage License: $100

Not only will you need an officiant, but also you’ll need a marriage license. In the state of Florida, the marriage license cost is just under $100. Click here to find out more information about getting your marriage license in Florida.

Wedding Flowers: $200

Yay, one of my favorite parts of any wedding day; florals! I work with Destin Floral Designs as a preferred wedding vendor and can’t recommend Jenny at Destin Floral Designs enough. In fact, she does amazing designs and can work with your budget. Nonetheless, I would suggest a bridal bouquet and boutonniere for your elopement and you should be able to get one in your style for an affordable price!

Grooms Suit: $100

There are so many suit options for the men! You can rent a tux or suit for a relatively affordable price. They may also even have a suit in their closet that would work for your elopement.

Wedding Dress: $300

One of the most beautiful wedding dresses that I have seen for elopements, is this dress from BHLDN. It is stunning and after-tax only $300! My best piece of advice is to give yourself a few weeks to shop online and have time to get a dress shipped to you. Search for “Wedding dress under $300”. Without a doubt, you’ll be surprised by how many amazing options there are!

Wedding Rings: $250

Last but not least, you need some wedding bands! Here are a few of my favorites from Etsy for him and her

Total: $2,000

I hope this helps give you an idea that you can have an elopement that is uniquely you with lasting memories at an affordable price. Ultimately, your wedding day should be about you two. Also, the love you share and not financial stress! I am more than happy to talk to you guys about other elopement ideas or even planning your own.
